Happy New Years, everyone. Before an incredible 2011 wedding season gets under way, my 2010 wedding season ended with a resounding BANG!!! I had the pleasure and privilege to shoot Milwaukee morning news anchor, Portia Young's gorgeous winter wedding. While it may have rained outside, the love and spirit of Christmas, complete with a winter wonderland, surrounded everyone inside.
If you watched WISN 12's A Season to Celebrate
over the Holidays, you may have a caught a sneak peak of Portia's wedding. If you missed it, I'm happy to say you can see the rest of her fabulous wedding right here.
I don't know what more I can say about Portia that I haven't already said in her Bridal Shower post, other than reiterate how infectious she is. Everyone around her just seems to smile, and I was blessed to witness this phenomenon once again.
Many congrats and much love to Portia and Chris and their family and friends. Your day was truly unforgettable. So much so, I couldn't resist making this a featured wedding. :) So grab a glass of wine, pull up a chair, throw on some smoldering tunes, sit back and enjoy. :)
Portia and Chris - Featured wedding
A little note about Portia and Chris' wedding photography: I've always been drawn to nostalgic gritty black and white photography. I have a small collection of Time Life "Remembering" books ranging from Grace Kelly, to Jackie Kennedy, to Aubrey Hepburn, to Life in Hollywood. The depth, character, and timelessness of that photography has always been my inspiration. As I was finishing Portia and Chris' wedding, it hit me that this is about as close to that amazing timeless nostalgic photography as I've ever produced. So thank you to Portia and Chris for trusting me to document your day the only way I know how — through my heart and through my lens.
